prevention and education PROGRAMmes
Prevention and Education Programmes:
At Fraud Victims United, we are committed to raising awareness about fraud and empowering individuals and communities to protect themselves against fraudulent activities. Our prevention and education programmes aim to educate people about common fraud tactics, provide practical tips for staying safe online and offline, and empower individuals to recognise and report fraudulent activities.
Fraud Awareness Workshops in Sport & Communities:
Fraud Victims United is planning to launch fraud awareness workshops throughout the UK, bringing together high-profile victims of fraud from the world of sport with key workers and experts from policing and financial services. These workshops will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, insights, and provide practical advice on how to stay safe against current fraud threats, including cybercrime.
Workshop Objectives:
Education: Our workshops will provide participants with valuable insights into the different types of fraud and the tactics used by fraudsters to deceive their victims. By understanding how fraud works, individuals can better protect themselves and their communities from falling victim to fraudulent schemes and cybercrime.
Empowerment: We aim to empower workshop attendees with practical tips and strategies for recognising and avoiding fraudulent activities. From spotting phishing emails to safeguarding personal information online, our workshops will equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to stay one step ahead of fraudsters.
Inspiration: Through the shared experiences of high-profile fraud victims, our workshops will inspire attendees to take proactive steps to protect themselves and their loved ones from fraud. By hearing firsthand accounts of how fraud can impact lives, participants will be motivated to prioritise fraud prevention in their daily lives.
Target Audience:
Our fraud awareness workshops will target a diverse audience, including athletes, sports professionals, supporters, key workers, and members of the community. By reaching out to different groups and communities, we hope to raise awareness about fraud and promote a culture of vigilance and resilience against fraudulent activities.
Venue and Format:
Initially, our workshops will be held in football clubs and stadiums, providing a unique opportunity to engage with players, staff, and supporters in a familiar and accessible setting. The workshops will be short, powerful, and inspiring, delivering impactful messages in a dynamic and interactive format. We plan to expand our workshop series to other community venues and settings in the future, reaching a wider audience and making a lasting impact on fraud prevention efforts nationwide.
Our goal is to team up with professional sports clubs to run workshops to their players, to speak on match days to supporters and to feature in match day programmes and finally to work with clubs and their community programmes to run initiatives in their communities.
